Terms of Service & Acceptable Use Policy
ScopeHunter — professional & trust network for security practitioners — version v1
These terms cover both the legal agreement to use ScopeHunter and the acceptable-use rules for the community itself. By creating an account, you agree to both. If you have questions, email security@scopehunter.io.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By signing up, you're confirming you meet that requirement — we don't independently verify age beyond that confirmation.
Your account
- You're responsible for the security of your own credentials, including enabling two-factor authentication (available in your Profile's Security section).
- One account per person. Impersonating someone else, or creating an account on behalf of someone who hasn't agreed to these terms themselves, isn't allowed.
- You're responsible for what gets posted, sent, or bid on from your account.
Acceptable use
This is a platform for security professionals, which means the bar for what's in scope here is higher, not lower, than a general-purpose social network. You agree not to use ScopeHunter to:
- Access, or attempt to access, systems, accounts, or data you're not authorized to access — including using anything shared here (a bulletin, a connection, a conversation) to plan or facilitate unauthorized activity against a third party.
- Share credentials, exploit code intended for unauthorized use, stolen data, or breach data beyond what's already public, in a way that facilitates further compromise.
- Harass, threaten, or dox another member — including de-anonymizing someone using Ghost Mode.
- Post spam, or content unrelated to security/professional networking, at scale.
- Misrepresent your identity, credentials, or professional history in a way intended to defraud another member (for example, in a Marketplace bid or a mentorship claim).
- Use the platform to circumvent a responsible-disclosure process, or to publicly disclose a vulnerability before an agreed timeline, in coordination with information obtained here.
Content and behavior can be reported from the Feed; reports go to a real moderation queue reviewed by an admin, not a black hole. Confirmed violations can result in content removal, account suspension, or termination, depending on severity.
Billing
Pro subscriptions and donations are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled; you can cancel or manage billing at any time from your Profile's billing section, which opens Stripe's own Customer Portal. Donations are one-time and non-refundable except where required by law.
Termination
You can delete your data at any time via the GDPR export/purge flow in your Profile. We may suspend or terminate an account for violating this policy; where reasonably possible, we'll tell you why.
Disclaimer
ScopeHunter is provided "as is," in active early-stage development — see the platform itself for what's currently real versus prototype. Content posted by other members (bulletins aside, which are pulled from CISA/NVD/HIBP) is user-generated and not vetted by us before it's visible; use judgment accordingly.
Changes to these terms
If we materially change this policy, we'll update the version at the top of this page and, where required, ask existing members to re-accept it.
